RIVER OF MEMORIES
PHOTOGRAPHS…
This is an ongoing project that I started shooting along the River Lea in November 2008. I have been living in Hackney Wick, East London, for the past 8 years and I have seen this part of London changing drastically in vision of the future developments planned by the GLA and LDA for the Olympic Games of 2012. The River Lea, neglected so far by the councils of competence, but loved by many who stroll along it, seems to have lost the present tense. Everything there is on the process to be built or destroyed. Hence, when I walk through the Lea I feel to experience a strange dimension between what was and what will be. A non-place, a beautiful and evocative but deaf scenario.
