"East Up Close" is a collection of partial portraits and details of people, animals and objects, all part of the complex East London mosaic. After many years spent capturing fleeting moments in line with the aesthetic of Street Photography, I decided to further narrow down my field of view in order to isolate my subjects even further.
Aided by the use of flash in broad daylight, I offer only glimpses as if the eyes are blinking and registering only fragments of what’s out there, however these unrelated elements still somehow make sense, they tell a visual story, my visual story.
This is my personal diary. I offer my bias, I discriminate what I choose to capture and, as I go along, I start understanding my surroundings.
